Barrington Library Foundation Needs Volunteers for Canvassing

This article pertains to the Barrington Library Foundation needing volunteers for canvassing in February 2020.

The Barrington Library Foundation is having a canvassing event in late February 2020 to reach as many Barrington homes as possible on one Friday through Sunday weekend, to ensure that the New Library gets a 60% supermajority on the March 11th, 2020 vote. Last year, the new library didn’t pass by only 150 votes. The effort is to hope that they can find more people to vote in favor of the new Library.

The purpose of the canvassing event is to get out information about the new Library project plan because last year there were still people that didn’t know anything about it. They have divided the Town into 12 areas, and they still need captains for three areas, as well as meeting the goal of having 10 canvassers per captain to help on that weekend. They need a total of 120 people to perform the canvassing, which will leave packets on doorsteps if there is no answer.

There will be a packet that the canvassers will leave, including information that can be found on www.barringtonlibraryfoundation.org right now, currently, in case you’d like to get a preview of what information will be included.
